I took a break to tend to my unwell mom - Gaurav Chopra

Gaurav Chopra, who was missing in action after his 12 weeks long stay in Bigg Boss, is now planning a proper comeback. “ I had to take a break to take care of my mother in Delhi, who was seriously unwell. She is ok now. ”

Gaurav has always gone against the tide doing non conventional TV shows. “ I had let go off  Is Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon 2 to try my hand at other things. After being around for so many years if I get an offer to do something that challenges the artist in me, as opposed to just TRPs, I go for it”

In the same vein he is in talks for 2 fresh  shows. "One is a thriller and the other is science fiction. I am really excited about both and am sure you guys will like it as well. Again I know they are not rating guzzlers but somebody needs to make the efforts to change the TV grammar. It is not that  i have something against  normal TV drama,   I was myself a part of the long running Uttaran. I guess I have been lucky to get juicy characters like Rathore who would always end up doing something interesting .”

Prior to Bigg Boss he had taken part in the Georgian edition of  If You Think You Can Dance (Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa is Indian version of it ).  “ I never knew  Indians actors were known in this part of eastern  Europe.  I was humbled by the sheer amount of love and affection. Indian TV  is on the cusp of going truly global, hence it is equally important that while keeping our staple shows, we also try to make shows which appeal to a universal audience  as well.”
