It is a big responsibility on me to lift ratings of Naamkarann - Kunwar Amarjeet Singh
Dancer turned actor Kunwar Amarjeet Singh (Dil Dosti Dance) who has just entered the Star Plus show Naamkarann is quite excited about the project. “My loverboy character Alladin is someone who does his own thing. He will be the knight in shining armour for Avni (Arsheen Namdaar) and Ayesha (Barkha Bisht Sengupta). The audiences will be left confused as to who he is and what he is upto? is he a plant by Dayawanti (Reema Lagoo)? Over time he will flip for Ayesha (but she has eyes only for Ashish (Viraf Phiroze Patel). There is a deep backstory to him as well which will be revealed down the road as well.”
Kunwar, who was also part of Nach Baliye 5 and Dance India Dance (season 2), admits that ratings of Naamkarann are low. “I guess the makers (Mahesh Bhatt and Guroudev Bhalla) realized that things had become very heavy, hence was not working. So Alladin was brought in to provide the breath of fresh air as Shah Rukh Khan did in Kal Ho Na Ho. It is a big responsibility on me to lift the rating of the show, hope our fortunes turn around. I am also a bit like Alladin in the sense that I am happy go lucky & believe in moving on instead of cribbing"
