I was not thrown out for a poor show - Shivani Tomar
Shivani Tomar who replaced Kratika Dheer in Colors show Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki for a short period, before again making way for the former lead, has no regrets of being part of the Balalji Telefilms production.
“I got lots of recognition for my efforts. I thank Ekta Kapoor maam for giving me this chance. I know there were a large number of girls in the fray for my role and yet she finally penciled me for the role of Tanuja.”
Shivani does not feel that she was thrown out of Kasam for a poor show. "It was a month long experiment. I was clearly told by the creative team that that if it worked story wise they might consider extending it. I guess the older man ( 42 year old Rishi played by Ssharad Malhotra ) & younger women equation (18 year my character) just did not work..”
However she also adds " that one month was a short period of time, had they continued it for a longer time maybe we would have got more traction. Agreed ratings had dropped a tad at first but later it returned to normal levels. While I feel they should have waited, I also understand that the story needed to be properly woven around the narrative .”
As for the allegation of lack of chemistry between her and Ssharad she says, “We never came to that stage where we had proper romantic scenes. Mostly what we shot was when he was angry at me. It was unlike what was shown between Kratika and him. ” Regarding Sharad she says“ I am glad he said a lot of positive things about me . We even exchanged messages saying it was fun to worth with each other. He is a nice guy. Towards the fag end of my stint people started liking our on screen equation”.
Shivani has previously acted in Channel V show Conditions Apply.
