Actor Shardul Pandit remembers the late Rasika Joshi
Actor Shardul Pandit, who worked with the late Rasika Joshi in the hit show Bandini, remembers her fondly. He says, "I can't thank God enough for the chance to work with her. Being a newcomer and with no acting background, she was my mentor. From facing the camera to delivering lines to crying without glycerine; she groomed me into an actor who got nominated in his third scene only."
Rasika, whom Shardul called 'Rusky', gets teary eyed talking about her. " From asking me to watch movies with her, sharing her favourite food, being a possessive and protective mother figure to me and finally to guide me; she was my strength."
He recalls the time when she was diagnosed with leukemia and even while going thorough the painful chemotherapy she remained brave and unfazed. He says, "Not many people know but she was the most loving person. Although she never showed it publicly, I remember when she was going through her chemo therapy and when everyone was calling her, she asked me to tell them not to do that. She was a proud woman and believed in facing her struggles alone and with a smile."
