TV Stars Sharad Malhotra and Harshad Chopra to battle it out for Bollywood glory
14th October is going be to TV’s day out on cinema. For not one but two small screen actors will try their B-Town luck on the same day i.e. Sharad Malhotra's (Banoo Main Teri Dulhann and now on-air Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki) long delayed film 1:13:7 - Ek Tera Saath and Harshad Chopda's (Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil and - Saubhagyavati Bhava) Bollywood debut with 2016 The End. The first is a supernatural and second is a comedy about the world coming to an end.
Both would surely want to emulate the success of TV superstar Karan Singh Grover who has successfully crossed over with Alone and the subsequent super hit Hate Story. But interestingly Harshad does seem to understand that TV is his bread and butter. For he is also in the race for an upcoming small screen project.
Since there will be a total of four films releases on 14th besides the above two, there will be a rush for prime time shows. Though Sharad and Harshad are known TV faces, they are still untested properties in films, which is a different ball game altogether. Also a lot depends on the marketing spends, the respective producers can do to push their films, as today you need to be seen all over. Even the King Khan’s don’t leave anything to chance.
Sharad and Harshad we wish you the best, for it is time TV actors got their due.
