Rakhi Special

Raksha Bandhan, the bond of love between brother and sister  is here.  And our TV actors also love to celebrate it with their siblings.  We caught up with a few and this is what  they had to say.

Ravi  Dubey

I have many female  cousins, but no real sister.  Since they don’t live in Mumbai we cant meet as before.  So  this time I have asked a common brother to tie rakhis  to all on my behalf. This relationship is very unique , full of emotions, love and friendly banter. If you are of the same age, a lot of understanding also comes up.  We  share stuff which we cant talk with our folks.  Since I was the eldest of them I would always advice them or help them when the chips were down. In the industry I tie rakhis to Shweta  Gautam (Ranbir Rana) and Dipti  Sharma ( Jamai  Raja). Every year  I do make more sisters.

Dheeraj Dhooper
I really love this festival, as it gives us a chance to show our siblings how much we love each other.  Sister’s wait for their brother’s  to come so they can tie them rakhi.  We assure them that we will be there for them through thick and thin.  I really love my elder sister.  During  childhood  she would  always let me ride roughshod  on her,  I would always demand things which were her’s.  She would first say no, but eventually give in as she really cares for me.  I have fond memories of the time she would  tie rakhi on me. She would mischievously put the entire ladoo in my mouth. I don’t make any one from the industry as my sister. I have one  and I am quite happy taking care of  her.

Divyanka Tripathi

Dheeraj and  Ravi have said it all.  I am missing  my brother and cousins who are in Bhopal.  But I have sent them rakhi and they have sent me gifts.  It is the best occasion for siblings to meet and exchange affection .

Raksha Bandhan reinforces the love between the siblings. Its the duty of every brother to protect his sister under all circumstances, in return the sister prays for the well-being, success, and safety of her brother.  It helps to build a healthy relationship. I have a brother in the industry in Parichay Sharma. I am really happy to have an elder sister too. .

Sezal Sharma

Raksha Bandhan in its true sense or ritual it's always been a great bonding experience in my life with the few people that I care about. Rakhi is the thread of genuine care, love and affection that can reside in our hearts even though we are not biological siblings or cousins. It warms my heart and keeps my faith in basic humanity, love and respect at its peak.

Shibani Kashyap

Raksha Bandhan is a festival that celebrates the bond between a brother and a sister. The society is taking a reverse gear, women need to be nurtured and protected from evil and who else than a dear brother for her protection. Even though my brother lives in Delhi and I live in Mumbai I always make it a point to go to Delhi and celebrate this beautiful bond with him.

Nausheen Ali Sardar

Raksha Bandhan signifies the bond between a brother and a sister in form of a thread we call Rakhi, which according to me, is the sweetest and purest form or love. It encompasses all the little fights, the secrets, the care and all. Raksha Bandhan just encapsulates all this in one day.
