Star Movies Select HD delivers on its promise of 365 days, 365 stories with the premiere of the incredible true story of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything on October 24 at 9pm.

Directed by James Marsh and adapted by Anthony McCarten from the memoir Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen by Jane Wilde Hawking, this movie narrates the story of one of the world’s greatest living minds, the renowned astrophysicist Stephen Hawking portrayed by Eddie Redmayne, who falls deeply in love with a fellow Cambridge student Jane Wilde played by Felicity Jones. Once a healthy, active young man, Hawking received an earth-shattering diagnosis at 21 years of age. This masterpiece captures their journey together as Stephen embarks on his most ambitious scientific work, studying the very thing he had so little of – time and Jane fighting tirelessly by his side. Together, they defied the impossible odds and achieved more than they could have ever imagined.

Released in 2014, the lead actor Eddie Redmayne’s performance was extensively praised, earning him the Academy Award for the Best Actor. The film received four Golden Globe Award nominations, winning the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama for Redmayne and Best Original Score for Jóhann Jóhannsson. It received 10 nominations at the British Academy Film Awards and won Outstanding British Film, Best Leading Actor (Eddie Redmayne) and Best Adapted Screenplay (Anthony McCarten).
