It was a song that spelt the pain and angst of the protagonists, a song that screamed of the unspoken words, the deafening silence. Ajiwasan Studio, Juhu resonated with words “Ik Anjaaana sa… na pehchana sa… sannata hai… sannata hai…” in the melodious voice of legendary Asha Bhosle along with young Mudasir Ali for Sudipto Sen’s film Lucknow Times.

"These days when I want to leave for a recording, I think twice about how good the song is. But this song Dehshat in Lucknow Times composed by Mudasir Ali is very good that I came before time to record," says Asha Bhosle about her latest recorded song. The legendary songstress says that she wanted to be a part of the film for many reasons. Rama (S Ramachandran) made my music album Asha and Friends happen by getting together Sanjay Dutt, Brett Lee, Urmila Matondkar and others. I am also close to his sisters Nandini and Anusha who has penned the lyrics. It was like singing for family. Also Rama knows so much about films that I am sure the film will be a hit," she says.

Lucknow Times, directed by Sudipto Sen, has been produced by Surender Kumar, Veer Kapoor, Sandeep Yadav and S Ramachandran under the banner of Kripa Movies. The film stars Divya Dutta, Usha Jadhav, Subrat Dutta, Vishal Sharma, Supurna Malakar, Swati Negi, Anurag Mishra, Jugal Kishore, Veer Kapoor and Sandeep Yadav. The song Dehshat has been set to music by Mudasir Ali and penned by Anusha Srinivasan Iyer with arrangement by Anuj Mathews.
