Vidya Malavade known for her role in Chak De! is debuting with the play titled Deal wali Dulhania in which she plays the title role. She says, “I have wanted to do theatre for a while. This offer came out of the blue and I had adequate time to give for rehearsals. It's a fun play so took it up. I am loving the experience so far. I am playing Sanjana and my look is very contemporary. Actor Amit Verma is paired opposite me. The play is commercial comedy with lots of drama”. On being asked if she knows Juhi Parmar was to do the play she says, “I am aware she was considered but that makes no difference to me.” On being asked if she contemplates doing TV she says, “I have been offered television but I am just not prepared for it. I can’t see myself shooting twenty five days a month or more as every month playing the same part would be too boring. I am a Kathak and contemporary dancer and have been performing on stage since many years so there is no stage fright. I am balancing Kathak, films and theatre".

Jaswir Kaur is playing Monica Vidya Malavade's younger sister who is fun loving brat and lives life on her own terms. She also debuting with this play. She says, "I have been offered plays in past too but because of TV I couldn't take out time. This character is very independent like me and lives as per own principles and it suited my personality so took it"

The play is going to open in May last week. It is being directed by actor Sachin Parikh. Previously the same paly was to be done by Juhi Parmar and Anand Suryavanshi who were looking for a comeback to acting, however things didnt work out and Anand got a role in Karna.
