Manish Chaudhari in Bombay Velvet!
In Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet, Manish is playing the role of Jimmi Mistry, a character based on a real life personality. Manish Chaudhariis well known for getting under the skin of his characters. He was so involved in the possess of getting his character right that Anurag told him playfully that he suffers from OCD when it comes to acting.
To prepare for Bombay Velvet, Manish spent a lot of time with friends and colleagues of Russi Karanjia as well as with Mumbai Fables writer Modern Indian History Professor Gyan Prakash and editor/journalist Naresh Fernandes writer of Taj Mahal Foxtrot. Mumbai Fables is the story that inspired Bombay Velvet and the original screenplay was also written by Prof. Gyan Prakash and further developed by Anurag and his team. Manish says, “Playing the character Jimmi Mistry in Bombay Velvet was a fantastic journey and bringing it to life with Anurag and his team was pure magic. I felt that I knew Jimmy so well by the time we started shooting in Sri Lanka that Jimmy was Manish and Manish was Jimmy, I didn't have to think about it”
