Rohitashv Gour

Shilpa Shinde may not need any acting lessons what with her own rich experience in television. But for her role in &TV’s show Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai! there’s one thing that the pretty actress does need to be taught – the language from Uttar Pradesh. Shilpa plays a simple housewife from Kanpur in the show and has to talk in the dialect of the state. But, being a Maharashtrian, she cannot get the twang and often the words right. Instead of being left battling with the language barrier, Shilpa has help in the form of actor Rohitashv Gour, who hails from the state and knows the language like the back of his hand. Rohitashv plays Shilpa’s husband on the show and whenever she fumbles with a word of phrase, he comes to her rescue with his linguistic expertise! So this is proving to be quite the learning experience for Shilpa, in literally the ‘literal’ sense.

Shilpa Shinde said “ Rohitashv is a wonderful human being and a very helpful co-star which is very rare since artists are usually known to be  very non-cooperative. The show is based in Kanpur and  I needed to deliver my dialogues in a UP accent. Rohitashv is from the North and the language is more closer to him, he has been helping me in getting the accent right and also with the pronunciation of certain words. I am really lucky to have such a wonderful co-star like him who doesn’t mind spending time improvising scenes and dialogues with for us to deliver the perfect take .”
