Makar Sankranti quotes from Sony Entertainment Television actors
Shivaji Satam aka ACP Pradyuman from CID: Makar Sankranti is a very big festival for Maharashtrians. Being a typical Maharashtrian, I do the traditional pooja and eat til ladoo and wish all the elders of the family. Apart from this, I love munching on ladoos so I wait for this festival eagerly. Though, now I just do the routine rituals, as a kid I thoroughly enjoyed flying kites.
Shivya Pathani aka Aarzoo from Humsafars: Since I am from Himachal Pradesh, the Makar Sankranti celebrations actually start with Lohri there. In the night, we light the fire and all of us gather together and celebrate the festival. Next day, we have this tradition of getting up early on and perform the Sankranti Pooja. We also make sure that we only wear yellow outfits on this day. Every year, my mom makes khichdi on this day so I gorge on the yummy food made by her.
Shefali Sharma aka Riya from Tum Aise Hi Rehna: I absolutely love the festival of Makar Sankranti. Flying kites, meeting friends and eating a variety of delicacies is what I look forward to every year. Of course, apart from this, we perform the traditional Pooja at home. However, since I am shooting this year, I won’t be able to celebrate it in a big way.
Kinshuk Mahajan aka Abhimanyu from Tum Aise Hi Rehna: I have a lot of memories of celebrating Makar Sankranti. In Delhi, we would start celebrating the festival 15 days prior. In fact, we would have kite flying competition amongst all the cousins. However, this year, I have an off so I am going to be celebrating the festival with my close friends. Throughout the day, we all will be flying kites, listening to music on the terrace and have loads of fun together. Post that, in the evening we will be watching back-to-back movies.
Sehban Azim aka Zaki from Humsafars: Just like every other guy, I too love flying kites and catching up with my friends on Makar Sankranti. This year too, all of us will be gathering at a friend’s place and celebrating the festival. For me it’s more about meeting and chilling with them on this day.
Ssharad Malhotra aka Pratap from Bharat Ka Veer Putra Maharana Pratap: I love the festival of Makar Sankranti. This is one festival that I look forward to every year. Meeting friends, gorging on sweets and flying kites is what I love the most. I remember, as a kid, me & my friends would compete each other and have kite flying competition. Fortunately this year also I will be celebrating this festival on the set with my co-stars.
