GR8! Women Achievers 2004

The Indian Television Academy and GR8! Magazine, have set out to institute The GR8! Women Awards 2004 under the aegis of GR8! – An endeavour to accord recognition to the Women of substance; Women who have been instrumental for pencilling in some truly perceptible changes in their chosen genres of activities.

These awards will be a salutation to the gender at large, and particularly the Woman from the ordinary milieu who has stood up to achieve the extraordinary – her achievement has to be celebrated.

Anu Ranjan, Editor n Co Publisher GR8! Says, “This is an endeavour to accord recognition to the Women of substance who have been instrumental for pencilling in some truly palpable and perceptible changes in their chosen genres of activities. It will be a salutation to the gender that has been given a raw deal, nationally and globally as well. Confronting neglect and oppression at large, if the Woman metamorphoses from the ordinary to the extraordinary – her achievement has to be celebrated.”

The Awards in various categories will be decided through the route of a public poll, both postal and online. Finally, a jury of high eminence will deliberate and decide the final upshots.

Co-publisher Shashi Ranjan further elaborates, “GR8! Belongs to the world of Television – a medium that is patronised in the most by the Women audience throughout the country. It can hardly be gainsaid that Women are at the core of the mind, matter and material of our Television, be it entertainment TV or infotainment TV or what have you.”

Therefore, for this genre, where the Women matter so much, it is only pertinent that its only magazine is setting out to felicitate the Women Achievers at large.
